EvEx is a major UKRI-funded programme that will bring together universities and research organisations from across the UK to develop new ways for public and civil servants to access research and learning opportunities. The project will help make Policy to Research (P2R) offerings more visible, accessible and connected.
This position will play a central role in bridging cutting edge academic research and policy practice, with a particular focus on enhancing evidence use and capability-building within local and combined authorities across the UK. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues at CSER, Institute for Technology and Humanity (ITH), Centre for Science and Policy<https://www.csap.cam.ac.uk/> (CSaP), and a network of national partners.
Key activities associated with the role include:
*
Conduct individual and collaborative research related to the aims of the project
*
Engage with policymakers and other non-academic stakeholders to support the translation of research into policy-relevant formats
*
Help design, organise, and deliver workshops and other knowledge exchange activities
*
Contribute to the development and maintenance of partnerships with external organisations, including local and combined authorities, public bodies, and academic collaborators
Applicants must have:
*
A PhD (or nearly completed) in a relevant field, e.g. public policy, political science, sociology, science and technology studies, risk, resilience, or a related discipline
*
Experience in co-creation, stakeholder engagement, or participatory research methods
*
Experience of engaging with diverse communities of experts
*
Enthusiasm to work on impact-driven research with the goal of understanding and mitigating global catastrophic risk
The post is full time with funding available from 1 August 2026 until 31 July 2029.
The closing date is 24 May 2026, with interviews planned for 12 June, subject to change.
