The Williams College Geosciences Department invites applications for the
Charles Bolin Dissertation Fellowship. This fellowship includes 2 years of
salary and research support while in residence at Williams College.
Williams is a liberal arts college in western Massachusetts with 2000
undergraduates and strong focus on excellence in teaching and in research.
The Bolin Fellowships are awarded to applicants who show exceptional
promise as scholars, who have an interest in and capacity for teaching
students in a community that is broadly diverse with regard to, among other
things, race, gender, citizenship, ethnicity, religion, and who are
pursuing a career in higher education in the United States. Ph.D.
candidates must have completed all doctoral work except the dissertation by
the end of the current academic year. Bolin Fellows typically complete and
defend their dissertation in the first year of the fellowship (2026-2027).
They teach one course each year.
The application deadline is November 15, 2025.
