1) Assistant Professor in Environmental, Risk, or Science Communication
We seek a scholar-teacher whose program of research advances theory and practice in environmental, risk, or science communication. We are especially interested in scholars whose work centers on water quality and communication related to water resources, with potential connections to environmental change, weather-related hazards, or disaster preparedness, in ways that support the university’s broader efforts in these areas. Areas of interest include communication in the context of hazards, weather events, and uncertainty; media coverage of science and environmental issues; science and environmental campaigns; information integrity and trust in science communication; and the use of artificial intelligence, data analytics, or visualization to enhance public understanding. This position is part of a Presidential-level cluster hiring initiative focused on water quality, environmental health, and disaster preparedness.
2) Assistant Professor in Health Communication
We seek a scholar-teacher whose research advances theory and practice in health communication, with emphasis on information integrity and trust in health contexts. Areas of interest include health communication campaigns; patient-provider interaction; digital health communication technologies; the role of artificial intelligence and data analytics in health information and media; media coverage and representation of health issues; strategic communication and public relations in healthcare; and innovative approaches such as immersive media, interactive platforms, or data visualization to advance health communication research and practice. This position is part of a Presidential-level cluster hiring initiative addressing pressing issues in health and well-being.
