We are recruiting a postdoctoral researcher, who will conduct collaborative research at the Department of Oceanography at Dalhousie University and the Department of Marine Chemistry & Geochemistry at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution through the Ocean Frontiers Institute's International Postdoctoral Fellowship Program. The collaborative research will focus on improving our understanding of organic acid species that contribute to total alkalinity (i.e., organic alkalinity) in coastal and marine environments and establish methodology to better measure organic alkalinity and characterize organic acids with the aim to understand both their impacts on the carbonate system and carbon cycling across the land-sea continuum as well as how they hinder monitoring of biomass-based marine CO2 removal. We anticipate a start date in summer or fall of 2026. The selected postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Evans' and Dr. Wang's groups and spend time in both institutions to complete the study.

To express interest in this position, please email Dr. Evans at taliaevans at dal.ca<mailto:taliaevans at dal.ca> and Dr. Wang at zawang at whoi.edu<mailto:zawang at whoi.edu>, as well as completing the Benthic Ocean Anoxic Tracer lab hiring form: https://forms.gle/CjYp1Ez3SvD3orsR6. Please note that the fellowship due date is Nov 3rd, 2025.
