I am delighted to announce a fully funded PhD position within the Leverhulme Doctoral Programme for Regenerative Innovation (RegNR8) at the University of Dundee, Scotland: New-Eden-Tay — Nature-Based Innovations for Adaptation, Resilience, and Restoration.

This project offers an exciting opportunity to apply physics, climate ensembles, and land and hydrodynamic modelling to one of today’s most pressing challenges — understanding how climate and hydrological processes interact and to explore various adaptation and resilience measures in East Scotland . The successful candidate will apply climate simulations, and run and analyse regional hydrological models to evaluate how nature-based solutions — such as wetland restoration, river woodland regeneration, and blue–green infrastructure — can reduce flood and drought risks while supporting ecosystem recovery.

We are looking for a motivated and curious candidate with a strong background in one of the following areas:  physics, mathematics, statistics, computer and data science, hydrology, physical geography, or earth and environmental sciences; and with a passion for using science to drive meaningful climate action.
