The School of Meteorology (https://ou.edu/ags/meteorology) at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for an Unranked Renewable Term faculty position focused on teaching. The School is housed within the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences. The Mission of the College of Atmospheric and Geographic Sciences is to offer the following: innovative and multi-disciplinary education, research, and outreach programs in an environment that empowers students, faculty, and staff to seek solutions to grand environmental and humanitarian challenges; to advance technology and propel knowledge that addresses our changing planet; and to develop engaged individuals for rewarding careers in the private sector, academia, government agencies, non-governmental organizations, and entrepreneurship.
To support existing teaching needs and planned curricula developments, we seek an experienced professional to join the School’s faculty in a renewable term appointment as Instructor (completed M.S.) or Lecturer (completed Ph.D.). The ideal candidate will have the following: i) sufficient expertise in the atmospheric sciences to broadly support and expand our undergraduate degree programs and general education coursework, and ii) unique experience(s) in one or more of the following areas - private sector meteorology, emergency management, weather/climate risk, science/forecast communication, aviation meteorology, broadcast meteorology, and/or insurance/reinsurance.
