The* University of Chicago Research Computing Center (RCC) *is looking for
an experienced *Computational scientist* to serve as a domain expert in
supporting and advising climate research projects. This job offers a unique
opportunity to support and advise faculty, postdocs, and graduate students
on climate-related research projects.

The Computational scientist will develop software to support data
acquisition, ingestion, and integration for research related to climate,
geophysical science, and atmospheric science, among other topics. The
scientist will also assist in developing user interfaces and scalable
back-end services to automate and accelerate the scientific output of
multi-institutional research projects.



We encourage you to apply for this incredible opportunity if you hold a *Ph.D.
in Mathematics, Computational Sciences, Earth Science, Soil Science,
Environmental Science, Geophysical Sciences, or a related field* and have,
among other skills:



   - Expertise in one or more scientific programming languages (e.g.,
   C/C++, Fortran90, Python, MATLAB),
   - Experience with scripting languages and visualization software to
   process, analyze, visualize, and interpret large datasets and dynamical
   model forecasts.
   - Experience using ML or AI techniques for climate or earth system
   science.
   - A proven track record in grant proposal development.
