Applications are now open for the 2026 Northwestern University Sustainability & Energy Fellows.  Deadline to apply is January 30, 2026. Applicants should submit a compelling research proposal of their own design, endorsed by two NU faculty members who agree to: (1) serve as co-advisors during the fellowship period and (2) co-write a (separately submitted) supportive letter as part of the candidate’s application. Applicants should pitch a research project that:

     *
they believe is highly original and compelling in a variety of disciplines, including material science, urban development and sustainability, climate adaptation, and energy policy
     *
would lever the capabilities and expertise of at least 2 potential co-advisors @ NU
     *
Applicants are welcome (but not required) to communicate with NU faculty as they develop their proposal
