I'm reaching out to share an exciting opportunity at Southern Cross University for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Cloud Microphysics, based at the National Marine Science Centre in Coffs Harbour, NSW, Australia.

This position is part of a world-first research program investigating climate intervention techniques to reduce coral bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef, including the use of Marine Cloud Brightening (MCB). The successful candidate will contribute to our field-based research program, working with Australia's most advanced airborne atmospheric and cloud microphysics platform.

We are looking for someone with:

  *   A PhD in a relevant discipline
  *   Proven expertise in retrieving cloud microphysical properties from remote sensing data
  *   Experience in radiative transfer modelling and atmospheric correction
  *   A strong publication record and a collaborative mindset

The role will include processing and validating airborne hyperspectral and satellite datasets, supporting instrumentation setup and data quality control, and contributing to innovative MCB field trials.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 2 years with potential for extension depending on funding and performance. Start date is expected by February 1, 2026.
