Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to announce an opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher at Texas A&M University’s CArbon Cycle and Earth Environment (CACEE) Lab (https://www.caceelab.space/) to model river network biogeochemical processes in response to terrestrial enhanced weathering.

This position is part of the “Global Ocean and Land Alkalinization (GOAL-A)” project, a Department of Energy Earthshot collaborative initiative involving scientists from Yale, Georgia Tech, Princeton, and Texas A&M. Project details: https://environment.yale.edu/news/article/yale-awarded-energy-earthshot-study-natural-carbon-capture

At Texas A&M, the postdoc will investigate how downstream carbon cycling responds to terrestrial enhanced weathering, focusing on changes in aquatic geochemistry and carbon fluxes within the interconnected river–lake–groundwater–atmosphere–sediment system. The research will build on the lab’s dynamic river network (DRN) model: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1748-9326/ada398

Applicants should have a strong background in geochemistry, hydrology, and reactive transport modeling. Experience with water quality and hydrology models—particularly public domain tools such as SWAT, ATS, or CrunchFlow—is highly desirable. A Ph.D. in a relevant field is required. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

Applicants should prepare a cover letter and curriculum vitae. Please direct general inquiries to: shuang-zhang at tamu.edu<mailto:shuang-zhang at tamu.edu>. Thank you!

Best regards,
Shuang Zhang
