PhD student opening - Fall 2025
Position description:
The department of Environmental and Sustainable Engineering at the University at Albany, State University of New York, is seeking applications for one Graduate Assistantship (which covers stipend, tuition, and insurance) starting Fall 2025. The graduate student will work under the supervision of Dr. Rixiang Huang. The research areas include but are not limited to biogeochemical cycling of carbon and nutrients, fate and transport of contaminants, and resource recycling.

Candidate qualification:

  1.  Must have received a bachelor’s or master’s (preferred) degree in environmental science/engineering, geosciences, soil sciences, or other closely related disciplines;
  2.  Demonstrated research experiences in relevant topics;
  3.  Familiar with common environmental analytical instruments;
  4.  Strong scientific communication skills;
  5.  Have a strong self-motivation, good research attitude, strong desire to learn and solve problems.
