Hi all,
We are excited to announce that we will be recruiting graduate students and 1-2 postdocs at the University of Oregon. We are interested in answering a range of research questions through remote sensing and (some) fieldwork, with a specific focus on
(1) Ice-ocean and ice-atmosphere interactions in Antarctica, and
(2) Impacts of changing sea level and offshore wave conditions on beaches and coastal communities in the western United States
Funding for these positions is from flexible sources, so this is an opportunity to shape the direction of a new research group and attempt to pursue science that is fun and relevant to coastal communities.
Location: Located 110 miles south of Portland, the University of Oregon has an enrollment of approximately 25,000 students. The Eugene metro area (pop. 380,000) is in a region noted for its quality of life and progressive environment. We are about an hour's drive from both the Pacific Ocean and the Cascade Mountains, situated along the beautiful Willamette River.
Please feel free to reach out to me and, if you are a prospective PhD student, apply by the December 26th deadline!
All the best,
Susheel
