The Lacroix Soil (bio)Geochemistry Lab at Dartmouth College is looking for MS and PhD students to begin in Fall 2025. We are mechanism-focused, “big-picture” motivated soil biogeochemists. Using a combination of field and laboratory studies, we aim to understand how small-scale soil processes alter large-scale carbon, nutrient, and contaminant fluxes. Research topics include i) the influence of anoxic microsites on various biogeochemical cycles, ii) mineral surface dynamics in the rhizosphere, and ii) how organic carbon stays in soils. You can read more about our research themes here<https://elacroixsoil.wixsite.com/emilylacroix/research>.
You would be a great fit for the lab if you:
* are curious about "how soils work"
* are committed to co-creating a positive, equitable, and inclusive work environment
* have a background in soil science, chemistry, biology, or earth and environmental science
