The McNicol Ecosystem and Planetary Health Integration Lab (ecoϕlab) at UIC seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate with a background in biometeorology, biogeochemistry, and/or ecosystem ecology to lead an up to three-year study of coastal temperate rainforest climate interactions in Southeast Alaska. Job duties will include a combination of field survey, monitoring, and experimentation, laboratory analysis of environmental samples, and terrestrial ecosystem modeling supported via co-mentoring from four principal investigators located at UIC and the University of Alaska Fairbanks. The combination of required work tasks can be tailored to suit the prospective hire’s background and interests during the hiring and onboarding process. Over and above the legally binding commitment to non-discrimination, accommodations for less physically able researchers can also be made given the lead investigators’ extensive network of experienced collaborators across the Southeast Alaskan rainforest.
