Dear colleagues,
The Ecosystem Function Lab at the Department of Geography, National University of Singapore (www.ecofunc.org) is seeking two full-time Postdoctoral Research Fellow (RFs) with relevant experience to study vegetation dynamics in tropical Asia and globally.
Description of the positions:
RF1 (vegetation monitoring) is expected to lead the development and deployment of various types of sensors, including phenocam, sap flow sensor and eddy covariance, across nature reserves, parks, and built-up area in Singapore and use the collected data to analyze the impact of climate change and urbanization on vegetation dynamics. (please apply at https://careers.nus.edu.sg/job-invite/26914/)
RF2 (dynamic vegetation modelling) is expected to use terrestrial biosphere models, earth system models, remote sensing, and recent developments in ecological/biogeographical theories to simulate and deepen our understanding of vegetation dynamics under climate change. (please apply at https://careers.nus.edu.sg/job-invite/26912/)
The ideal candidate is expected to be highly creative, have strong numerical and critical thinking skills, and a familiarity with the processes governing ecosystem functions such as the carbon cycle. These positions are funded by a Climate Impact Science Research (CISR) Grant from National Environment Agency, a Presidential Young Professorship and a Foresight grant from National University of Singapore.
