The University of Rochester Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Modeling Group <http://atmos.earth.rochester.edu/>, led by Dr. Lee T. Murray, is looking to hire a Lead Computational Scientist to join its research team through the Center for Integrated Research Computing <https://www.circ.rochester.edu/> of the Goergen Institute for Data Science <https://www.sas.rochester.edu/dsc/index.html>.
Our research group employs a wide variety of forward and inverse modeling techniques to simulate atmospheric chemistry and climate interactions, assimilate in situ and remote sensing observations of atmospheric composition and climate, and apply machine learning and artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our Earth System Models. We collaborate extensively with similar research groups worldwide, including co-leading the FETCH4 <http://fetch4.github.io/> project supported by the Virtual Earth System Research Institute <https://www.schmidtsciences.org/virtual-earth-system-research-institute-vesri/> of Schmidt Sciences <https://www.schmidtsciences.org/>.
Prior experience working with global Earth System Models or Data Assimilation Systems is preferred but not required.
The starting salary range is $84,718 - $127,088, commensurate with experience.
