Research Physical Scientist position at NOAA's Geophysical Fluid
Dynamics Laboratory, New Jersey, USA

Ready to make a meaningful impact on environmental science? Join the
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Office of
Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (OAR), Geophysical Fluid Dynamics
Laboratory (GFDL) in Princeton, New Jersey, USA. We're seeking a
talented federal research scientist to push the boundaries of innovation
and contribute to addressing societal challenges.

As part of our team, you'll be developing, evaluating, and implementing
bias correction and downscaling methods using statistical and/or machine
learning techniques. Your focus will be on creating regionally refined
climate data products tailored for use in critical climate impact
studies across various time scales, including seasonal, decadal, and
multi-decadal. Research activities include analyzing climate datasets
generated at NOAA GFDL and elsewhere, including observations, reanalysis
products, and climate model outputs. By delving into these datasets,
you'll gain insights into climate, meteorological, and hydrological
phenomena that have the potential for significant societal impacts.
Ultimately, your work will contribute to the creation of actionable
science aimed at addressing pressing environmental challenges of
interest to NOAA stakeholders.

This position announcement is open from May 13th to May 28th, 2024.
