Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with remote sensing
  2. Experience developing code in Google Earth Engine, R, or Python
  3. Experience with or interest in analysis of airborne lidar data, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), satellite multispectral data, and/or machine learning models
  4. Evidence of publishing in peer-reviewed journals
  5. Expertise in fire science, forest science, or southwestern US coniferous forest science
  6. Interest in developing science to support management
  7. Interest in working collaboratively within a research team

About the Francis Lab: The Francis Lab is focused on understanding forest disturbance regimes in a changing climate. We develop new systems to measure forest structure, composition, and biomass by integrating remote sensing and field plot data. We then use those systems to improve understanding of how forest disturbances are changing with climate change and to support forest management.
