The Atmospheric Composition and Climate research group at the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position. The position is created to better understand physical and chemical processes near the upper troposphere and lower stratosphere, focusing on water vapor-aerosol interaction and aerosol radiative forcing assessment. The successful candidate is expected to conduct numerical simulations using multiscale chemistry-climate models and perform model calibration using satellite observations. A Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences (or related disciplines) and experience in climate modeling are required. The candidate will also have opportunities to work with scientists from NCAR and NASA JPL. Competitive salary and new computing/office resources will be provided.

The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance. The position is available immediately, and the starting date is flexible but no later than Sept. 2024. Please submit a detailed CV along with a list of three references in an email with the title “Application_ARCPostdoc_[Name]_[Affiliation]”. For more information regarding the position, please contact Prof. Yuan Wang (yzwang at stanford.edu<mailto:yzwang at stanford.edu>).
