Hi,
I would like to share a teaching opportunity from The School of the Art
Institute of Chicago on the ES Jobs list.
Below is a text-only description of the position(s) and attached is a flyer.
Thanks so much!
Sarah

*Position Description:*
The Liberal Arts department at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago
invites scientists with expertise in the broad fields of environmental
science to teach one of several science courses in the area of climate
change science and the effects of climate change on the biosphere during
the academic year 2024-25.

Topics can include: the science of past and current climate change, links
between climate change and severe weather, tipping points and catastrophic
climate change, species extinction, wildfires, water availability, the
impact of environmental disasters on society and the biosphere,
environmental impacts of natural gas fracking and oil spills,
geo-engineering, the origins of our fossil fuel addiction and climate
change denial.

This is a unique position open to current PhD students working on their
dissertation and scientists who have completed their PhDs. This short-term
position is particularly fitting for those interested in expanding their
experience teaching undergraduate students, teaching environmental science
to diverse learners, and exploring environmental/climate solutions in the
creative setting of an art and design school.

If you are interested in this position, please email your C.V. and a brief
cover letter highlighting teaching interest and motivation to work with
non-scientists to: SAIC Science Coordinator, Elizabeth Freeland at
efreel at artic.edu.
