AIR QUALITY SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION: Singleton Schreiber seeks an Air Quality Specialist to support its environmental and toxic torts litigation in a large firm setting. The Air Quality Specialist plays an integral part in assisting attorneys in collecting, investigation and analyzing environmental data for case selection, pre-litigation, and litigation processes of matters involving toxic exposure, property damage and medical monitoring claims caused by a wide range of toxic releases and emissions from industrial processes and manufacturing, landfills, and utility-caused fires. The Air Quality Specialist also provides explanations and understandings of the collected data and scientific literature and its application to cases. The ideal candidate has an excellent understanding of the increased health risks of exposure to hazardous air pollutants, emissions and dispersion modeling, and state and federal air quality regulations.
This will be a hybrid role based in our Denver, CO office.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
$70,000-$90,000 annually
Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Collect available emissions and monitoring data and source information.
* Analyze and review air compliance reports, including emission inventories, Title V applications and deviation reports, periodic NSPS & MACT reports, Tier II reports, and TRI reports.
* Analyze and model air emissions and dispersion data to determine potential exposure and health impacts.
* Review and advise on initial cases in potential toxic release and fire damage cases.
* Review, analyze, and explain the content of scientific literature and reports to attorneys, paralegals, and other legal experts.
* Assist in locating scientific experts.
* Provide support in depositions regarding scientific expertise.
* Research the scientific issues involved with toxic exposures and harm to property.
* Collaborate with lead attorney(s) on any issue(s) in any case involving environmental and toxic damage and increase health risk exposure.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
* At least 5 years practical experience in collecting and analyzing scientific data.
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, Public Health, Environmental Health, Engineering, Chemistry, Meteorology, or a related field. Master's degree in these fields is a bonus.
* Experience utilizing air emissions and dispersion modeling systems such as SCREEN3, AERMOD, and CALPUFF.
* Experience collecting and analyzing dust, soot, indoor and outdoor air samples, and monitoring data.
* Experience in FOIA, state sunshine act and/or agency data requests preferred.
* Experience working in a fast-paced, growing organization preferred.
* Proficient in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and able to learn new computer software systems as needed. Experience using ArcGIS, R, Python or other mapping and data analysis tools would be ideal.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-directed leader with the ability to build relationships through high levels of professionalism, confidentiality, judgment, and discretion in line with the firm's client service standards.
* Ability to build, drive, and maintain team morale.
