Dear all, 

We are seeking to recruit a 1-year Postdoctoral Research Associate in Earth System Modeling at the Leverhulme Center for Climate Change Mitigation (University of Sheffield). 

This position is part of a UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) funded project, "The Net-Zero Emissions Challenge: Quantifying Unintended Climate Feedbacks from Large-Scale Deployment of Land-Based CO2 Removal Strategies.”. It has the possibility for renewal beyond October 2025, pending funding.

We seek to appoint someone with experience in earth system modelling (or land modelling) and a background in atmosphere-biosphere interactions to design and conduct modelling experiments focused on the expansion of oil palm plantations as a bioenergy crop and their impacts on climate and atmospheric composition, including potential implications for air quality, human, and vegetation health.
