The US EPA's Center for Environmental Measurement and Modeling is hiring up to 3 people focused on measuring volatile organic compound (VOCs) in air. The application is open until Jan 24, 2024.

Evaluation will be based on:

  *   Knowledge and experience monitoring volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in air matrices using sorbent methodologies, GC/MS, GC-FID, HPLC, thermal desorption, and optical spectroscopic techniques;
  *   Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting analytical laboratory instrumentation, including gas chromatograph - mass spectrometer systems with thermal desorption inlet systems;
  *   Experience with developing, automating, programming, and/or using data acquisition and control systems to design and run laboratory or field experiments;
  *    Ability to manage and analyze large datasets, identify trends, and perform statistical analysis;
  *   Ability to follow standard operating procedures and adhere to robust quality assurance standards and safety and health protocols;
  *   Skill in oral communication;
  *   Skill in written communication;
  *   Ability to manage contracts.
