Hi everyone,

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate for a postdoctoral position (Dalhousie University/Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières) focusing on carbon cycle impacts of hydroelectricity production in eastern Canada. As part of a large-scale project studying the impact of hydroelectric complexes on carbon balances, with a research team including different universities and Hydro-Québec, the candidate will work on modeling of historical carbon balances in the Romaine hydroelectric complex. The project will also involve the analysis of field data such as eddy covariance CO2 and CH4 data.

The position will be available for 2 years ($55,000CAD/year).

The candidate must have strong skills in data analysis and programming obtained through studies (bachelor's, master's, doctorate, postdoctoral) in ecology, biogeosciences, environmental sciences, remote sensing, etc. Experience in eddy covariance flux data processing and analysis is an asset. Motivation to work on multidisciplinary research is essential.

Please contact us with any questions regarding the position. To apply, please provide a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a copy of transcripts and the name of references to:

manuel.helbig at dal.ca

alexandre.roy at uqtr.ca

We are accepting applications until February 1, 2024. Applications will be evaluated immediately until the position is filled.

Thanks,

Manuel and Alexandre
