Atmospheric Composition Scientist
Job Summary
Carr Astronautics Corporation is seeking an Atmospheric Scientist to work on a long-term National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) contract.
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree, master’s degree or Ph.D. in atmospheric science, meteorology or related fields of study.
Primary Responsibilities

  *   Work as part of a team supporting NOAA scientists to develop, maintain, and validate algorithms for sensing aerosols, water vapor, and trace gases from satellites.  Trace gases may include NO2, SO2, and O3 and sensors may include polar and geostationary NOAA and NOAA-partner satellites.
  *   Prepare written and oral communications for internal and external consumption.

Requirements

  *   Must have strong software skills, with Fortran and IDL under Linux highly desirable, and capability to develop science algorithms and support their maintenance.
  *   Must have strong understanding of Atmospheric Science and/or Meteorology as demonstrated by academic record and/or job history.
