The position will involve conducting independent research and modeling in watershed hydrology or watershed biogeochemistry, overseeing technical progress of research in the area of emphasis, and communicating research results in peer-reviewed publications.

Competencies in the following areas will be evaluated: 1) Knowledge of watershed and wetland hydrology and biogeochemistry; 2) Knowledge of extramural management methodologies; 3) Skill in analyzing and interpreting scientific data; 4) Skill in written communication; 5) Skill in oral communication; 6) Ability to provide leadership; 7) Ability to develop plans and program initiatives to support establishment of new scientific standards.
