Hello,

The Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of
California Riverside invites applicants for a postdoctoral scholar to
conduct research on the role of oceans in climate change, for instance,
Southern Ocean heat uptake, in Riverside, CA. The postdoctoral scholar will
have primary responsibility for performing experiments with climate models
and conducting analysis that combines observations and model results.
Although the start date of this position in Spring 2024 is anticipated, it
is flexible.

Basic qualifications for this position that must be met by the date of hire
include:

   - Ph.D. in atmosphere, ocean and climate sciences or a related field

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

   - Experience working in supercomputing environments (Linux/Unix)
   - Demonstrated experience with running climate model simulations and
   analyzing model outputs
   - Recent accomplishments demonstrating research as evidenced by
   peer-reviewed publications

This is a full-time position. The initial appointment is for 2 years, with
the potential for an additional year based on satisfactory performance and
funding availability. The salary range is based on the UC system-wide
salary scales

A reasonable estimate of full-time rate for this position at 100% time is
$64,480 -$77,327.
