Hello,
I was wondering if you could post the following job ad to the mailing list:
The Department of Geosciences at Auburn University (https://www.auburn.edu/cosam/departments/geosciences/index.htm) is accepting applications for our graduate programs (MS in Geology, MS in Geography, and PhD in Earth system Science) for Fall 2025 intake. We expect to recruit a cohort of a dozen students, all with fully funded teaching assistantships. Our assistantships include a $26,500 12-month salary and tuition waiver. We are especially committed to increasing the representation of students that have been historically underrepresented in U.S. higher education.
Applications are due January 15, 2025, to be considered for GTA funding support.
Our core research areas in the Department of Geosciences include Earth and Life Through Time (Sedimentology, Paleobiology, Geomicrobiology), Environmental Geosciences (Climate, Hydrogeology, Environmental Geochemistry, Water Resources, Natural Hazards), Geospatial Sciences and Geoinformatics (Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing, UAVs, Data Science), Natural Resources Exploration (Energy, Critical Minerals), and Solid-Earth Processes and Dynamics (Petrology, Geochemistry, Tectonics/Geophysics).
Our interdisciplinary Earth System Science Ph.D. program allows students to examine new ways of thinking about Earth, Environment, and Society through the intersection of Earth’s dynamic processes and human interactions. The program has engaged faculty from five colleges and more than 10 departments to train the next generation of earth and environmental scientists and is led by the Department of Geosciences.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact faculty members whose research program aligns with their interests. For more information about the department, faculty, and facilities, please visit our website (https://www.auburn.edu/cosam/departments/geosciences/index.htm). For details about our graduate program, including instructions for how to apply, please visit https://www.auburn.edu/cosam/departments/geosciences/graduate_programs/index.htm. Inquiries may be directed to our Graduate Program Officer, Dr. Gottardi at gottardi at auburn.edu<mailto:gottardi at auburn.edu>.
