University. The *preferred start date is January 2025, but there is
flexibility for earlier or later dates*, and the position is for 12 months.

*The position*

The researcher will work on H2020/Horizon Europe funding and focus on
connecting large-scale atmospheric dynamics to mid-latitude surface climate
extremes. Teaching/supervising duties are possible on a voluntary basis.
You will be based at the Dept. of Earth Sciences in Uppsala, but will be
expected to travel both nationally and internationally.



*The research group*

I coordinate a lively research group based at the Dept. of Earth Sciences
in Uppsala, which focuses on the dynamics of extreme climate events in the
mid and high latitudes and their interactions with other components of the
Earth System. We currently host several nationally funded and H2020/Horizon

*The department*

Uppsala University is a comprehensive, research-intensive university with a
strong international standing. The Department of Earth Sciences (
https://www.geo.uu.se/ <https://www.geo.uu.se/?languageId=1>) is one of the
most complete such academic departments in Europe. Our research focuses on
subjects that range from the Earth’s core to the atmosphere, on scales from
submicroscopic structures in minerals to the formation of mountains and
oceans. We have teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.
