Overview:

The High Performance Computing Administrator is a critical role to further
research efforts at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. This role
will serve as the principal administrator for the university’s first
HPC cluster,
overseeing technical management and planning of the equipment and working
with faculty and students to facilitate their research mission.

Minimum education and experience requirements:

   - Masters with 2+ experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 3+ years of
   experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience may be
   substituted on case by case basis.
   - Proficiency with C/C++, Java, R, Python, Bash, and/or other scripting
   languages.
   - Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
   - Strong project management skills.


Preferred education and experience requirements:

   - Master degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other
STEM field
   of Linux administration
   - Experience with High Performance Computing Systems, including hardware
   and software installation and maintenance, scheduling, storage, file
   systems, and high-performance interconnects.
   - Experience with architecting, designing, and implementing research
   computing solutions.
