*Postdoctoral Researcher in Observation-Based Climatology*


The Climatology group at the Department of Geosciencesat Tübingen 
University invites applications for a

*Postdoctoral Researcher**(m/w/d; E 13 TV-L, **100**%)*

for the duration of 36 months, starting date 11/2024 or as soon as 
possible thereafter.

*Your **responsibilities**are*

  *

    Research on past and/or present-day climate change with an
    observational perspective to improve our understanding of climate
    variability based on physical and empirical constraints

  *

    Documentation and publication of results in scientific journals and
    presentation of results at national and international scientific
    meetings

  *

    Development of your research and teaching profile through funding
    acquisition and a contribution to teaching and supervision of
    students to a limited extent (4 SWS)

*We expect*

  *

    Completed PhD in climate, geo- or environmental sciences,
    meteorology, physics, chemistry or related scientific disciplines

  *

    Experience in the measurement and interpretation of stable
    isotopologues of waterand water chemistry and/or experience in
    sampling, processing and analysis of terrestrial palaeoenvironmental
    archives (e.g., speleothems, ice)

  *

    Demonstrated scientific writing proficiency and an interest in
    interdisciplinary fundamental paleoresearch with a future-oriented
    outlook including climate change mitigation
