The University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez invites applications for a
tenure-track position focused on teaching and conducting research in
atmospheric physics.

*MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS*
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, physics of the
atmosphere, or a closely related field by date of hire. Evidence of a
strong physics background and ability to teach calculus-based introductory
physics courses is required. Having relevant post-doctoral experience is
highly desirable.

Specialization in Atmospheric Physics, Atmospheric Science, Geophysical
Fluid Dynamics, or Climate Physics: Applicants must specialize in a field
related to the atmospheric sciences and demonstrate a strong background in
physics. Some areas of interest include atmospheric microphysics,
atmospheric radiative processes, computational approaches to synoptic,
mesoscale, and extreme meteorological phenomena, climatology and climate
physics, remote sensing techniques and instrumentation, and tropical
meteorology. If the applicant's native language is not Spanish, they must
be able to initially communicate and teach fluently in English and, by the
end of the 5-year tenure evaluation period, be able to communicate
