The Atmospheric Chemistry and Climate Lab at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) has an opening for a postdoctoral scholar or a PhD position.

Position Overview:
This funded, full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to examine new particle formation (NPF) and biogenic secondary organic aerosol (SOA) within the North American boreal forest. As part of the newly established Atmospheric Science and Chemistry mEasurement NeTwork (ASCENT), you will spearhead aerosol research at the Delta Junction site (https://ascent.research.gatech.edu/delta-junction), in strong collaboration with scientists at University of Helsinki in Finland.

Responsibilities:
•	Deploy cutting-edge gas and aerosol instrumentation to examine new particle formation in Alaska boreal forest.
•	Engage in field measurements and data analysis, leveraging your expertise in atmospheric aerosol measurements to drive impactful discoveries.
•	Collaborate with scientists from the University of Helsinki, fostering a transcontinental dialogue to compare and contrast measurements between North American and European boreal forests.

Qualifications:
We're seeking candidates with a strong background in atmospheric aerosol and/or mass spectrometry measurements. Whether you're a seasoned postdoctoral scholar or an ambitious PhD candidate, if you're passionate about unraveling the complexities of atmospheric chemistry, we want to hear from you!
Interested applications should email a curriculum vitae and a paragraph describing their research interests to Dr. Jingqiu Mao. The position can start as soon as the summer of 2024. Please contact me immediately if you are interested.
