[ES_JOBS_NET] Tenure Track Position in Sedimentology and/or Tectonics

The Department of Geology and Environmental Science at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire invites applications for a tenure-track position in the area of Sedimentology and/or Tectonics. The position is anticipated to be filled at the Assistant Professor level. The appointment will begin on August 19, 2024.

QUALIFICATIONS:
An earned Ph.D. in geology or a closely related discipline prior to the appointment start date is required. The department seeks to hire a person to continue our department's strong field-based sedimentology program and to complement existing strengths in teaching field geology. Demonstrated success in teaching and collaborative research at the undergraduate level is desirable but not required. The ability to enhance diversity and serve as a role model and mentor for women and/or minorities will be considered an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will teach introductory-level courses, Sedimentology and Stratigraphy, contribute to teaching our Field Geology courses in New Mexico and Montana, and teach other upper-division courses as needed (potentially including tectonics, structural geology, or geophysics). Responsibilities will also include conducting collaborative research with undergraduate students, advising, and service to the department and and the University.
