The Climate Research Group (https://www.akinsanola.com/) at the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Illinois Chicago, invites applications for one postdoctoral position in tropical and midlatitude climate dynamics and regional hydroclimate. Potential research areas include high-resolution dynamic downscaling using the Weather Research Forecasting (WRF) model, attribution of regional precipitation changes, regional climate change at convective-resolving spatial scales, land-atmosphere interactions, and extreme weather and climate events.
The successful candidate will work with Dr. Akintomide Afolayan Akinsanola and will be expected to prepare and run and/or use global or regional climate model simulations, analyze the outputs, write peer-reviewed journal articles, provide support to graduate students, and contribute to an active scientific environment in the department through group meetings and seminars.
