*Graduate student assistantship(s) in post-fire
ecology-geomorphology-hydrology at Colorado State University*
Seeking 1-2 graduate students (PhD or MS) students to join an NSF-funded
project exploring how post-fire changes in vegetation, snow, streamflow,
and erosion vary across elevation gradients in northern Colorado. Each
student will conduct interdisciplinary research combining at least two of
the core topics (vegetation recovery, snow changes, streamflow responses,
erosion dynamics).
Desired qualifications may include (not all are required): MS degree and/or
work experience in a related discipline, experience with field research,
strong programming skills (R, python, GEE), prior research using remote
sensing and/or other geospatial data, experience piloting drones.
Students can choose to enter the PhD or MS programs in Civil and
Environmental Engineering (primary advisor Peter Nelson,
peter.nelson at colostate.edu), Geosciences (primary advisor Dan McGrath,
daniel.mcgrath at colostate.edu), Graduate Degree Program in Ecology (primary
advisor Tony Vorster, anthony.vorster at colostate.edu), or Watershed Science
(primary advisor Stephanie Kampf, stephanie.kampf at colostate.edu).
Position(s) will begin January-May 2024 and include stipend + tuition.
