The Department of Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of North
Carolina Wilmington (*http://www.uncw.edu/earsci*
<http://www.uncw.edu/earsci>) invites applications for a nine-month
tenure-track position in hydrology or hydrogeology to begin August 2024 at
the rank of assistant professor.

We are seeking a collegial, dynamic and engaging colleague who shares our
commitment to the success of our students and the department. The specific
area of specialization is open, but preference will be given to those
candidates who complement departmental faculty strengths. The successful
candidate will use a mixture of field and laboratory methods to conduct
innovative and interdisciplinary, societally important research that
involves undergraduate and graduate students, and to maintain an externally
funded research program. The successful candidate will be required to teach
courses such as surface hydrology and hydrogeology in addition to topics in
their specialty.

Teaching duties will contribute to a diverse curriculum at the
undergraduate and graduate level that supports the Earth and Ocean Sciences
degree programs.  Participation in university and community service is
recognized and expected.

Candidates illustrate willingness to teach surface hydrology and
hydrogeology in application materials.
