Assistant Professor in Critical Minerals and Economic Geology (VERY broadly defined!)

Hi all! The University of Kentucky Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is looking for a TT Assistant Professor within the very broadly defined world of Critical Minerals and Economic Geology. Expertise may include, but is not limited to, ore and mineral genesis, geochemistry, geofluids, geochronology, mineral exploration and appraisal, and sustainable extraction of critical minerals and other non-hydrocarbon resources. We would like to see applications across a range of specializations, and I would love to see geochemists/isotope geochemists apply.

Our department has a lot of exciting growth happening right now and this will be the first of hopefully a suite of new hires. We are deeply committed to inclusive excellence within our department, the university, and community. Lexington is a great place to live, with excellent hiking and climbing less than an hour away, vibrant and affordable neighborhoods, and excellent schools.

Please reach out to me (Andrea Erhardt, andrea.erhardt at uky.edu<mailto:andrea.erhardt at uky.edu>) or the search chair Dr. Ryan Thigpen (ryan.thigpen at uky.edu<mailto:ryan.thigpen at uky.edu>) with any questions! Application review will start on November 27th and continue until the position is filled.
