The Department of Environmental Science at American University, Washington DC seeks a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow (post-PhD) or Research Fellow (post-MS) in the field of atmospheric aerosol modeling. The fellow will participate in a three-year NASA-funded projects aiming at understanding impacts of aerosols from volcanic eruptions and forest fires on the climate.

This is a 1-year term appointment with the possibility of renewal up to three years based on the availability of funding. The salary is commensurate with experience, starting at $62,000 per year. The anticipated start date for this position is January 1, 2024 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position will be based at American University in Washington, DC and will be supervised by Dr. Valentina Aquila.
