We seek an individual with administration experience to serve as the
Program Manager for the Western Fire and Forest Resilience Collaborative.
With generous support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, the
Collaborative is working to address the western US fire crisis by bringing
together scientists and decision makers to co-create and implement a
long-term research program that advances the predictive science of fire
ecology and forest resilience. The Collaborative is led by the Forest
Futures Lab at Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies, where the Program
Manager will be based.

The Program Manager will be responsible for administration of the
Collaborative. This position will report to the Deputy Director of Policy
and Management. Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies is the world’s premier
think tank on ecosystem science. It is a uniquely collaborative and

Key responsibilities:

   1. Track the Collaborative’s budget and day-to-day spending.
   2. Work with Collaborative scientists to track project timelines and
   milestones.
   3. Support the Deputy Director in stakeholder engagement, including but
   not limited to meeting coordination and logistics and database management.
   4. Manage grant reporting including submitting reports in advance of
   deadlines, coordinating input from Collaborative scientists, and assembling
   initial drafts of reports.
   5. Track project successes and products including papers, additional
   funding, media mentions, presentations, op-eds, and other accomplishments
   for reporting, webpage, and social media accounts.
   6. Plan, coordinate, and manage in-person and virtual meetings including
   internal project meetings and external convenings. This includes taking
   meeting minutes, organizing digital access options, archiving
   presentations, and recordings, etc.
   7. Coordinate travel and reimbursement for Collaborative related
   activities.

Duration: This is a full time, exempt, fully benefited position. Salary is
commensurate with experience ranging from $60,000 to $70,000 per year plus
a highly competitive benefits package. A start date of March 2024 is
preferred.

Qualifications: Did you know most successful candidates do not meet all

Candidates must hold an associate’s degree or higher and have at least 5
years of experience in nonprofit administration, policy, environmental
advocacy, development, communications, and/or project management. Past
experience working in teams and excellent written and oral communication
skills are required. Excellent candidates will also have experience in one
or more of the following: budgeting, database management, website
management. A background in environmental science or experience working
with scientists is a plus.
