Dear Colleagues,

The Department of Geography at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for a tenure-track appointment at the Assistant Professor level in Physical Geography. We seek to hire a physical geographer who pursues societally relevant questions that help us better understand environmental and Earth systems, including how they are transformed by human-induced or other disturbances. Specific areas of research include, but are not limited to, soil science, biogeography, climatology, watershed science, and cryosphere science. The applicant should have training and experience in relevant research methods such as field methods, modeling, or remote sensing. As part of the normal teaching load of three courses per year, the successful candidate will rotate regularly into a large introductory physical geography class as well as upper division classes in the candidate's area of expertise. The successful candidate is expected to show promise in raising external research funding and will demonstrate success supporting diversity and inclusive excellence through research, teaching, mentoring, or sponsoring relevant initiatives related to their scholarship or work.

For more details and to apply for the position visit: https://jobs.colorado.edu/jobs/JobDetail/Assistant-Professor/52806.

Full consideration will be given to applications submitted by December 11th, 2023. The University of Colorado Boulder is committed to building a culturally diverse community of faculty, staff, and students dedicated to contributing to an inclusive campus environment.

Kind regards,
Katherine Lininger
