NASA-funded Postdoc in viral ecology

We seek a postdoc to join a large NASA-funded collaboration between viral ecologists and geochemists at the University of Miami, the University of Lausanne, the University of Pittsburgh, and Indiana University Indianapolis. Our goal is to determine how viral infections modulate the abundance, distribution, and metabolism of green and purple sulfur bacteria. The ideal candidate will have a background in biogeochemistry and microbiology and will be willing to perform fieldwork, laboratory experiments, and bioinformatic analyses. The ability to work well in an interdisciplinary team and communicate with chemists, biologists, and geologists is fundamental for this position.
