We are seeking energetic individuals interested in the intersection of atmospheric science and public health to join our dynamic team at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), located in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center on planet Earth.

  1. Graduate student: We welcome students with diverse cultural and training backgrounds to join our Health-Atmosphere Nexus Group, within the School of Public Health (SPH) at UTHealth. Our SPH offers a wide range of degree programs (https://sph.uth.edu/degree-finder/index.htm) in collaboration with sister institutions in the Texas Medical Center (e.g., Baylor College of Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Rice University, etc.). If you have experience with programming languages and spatial analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, ArcGIS, etc.), please email Prof. Hang with your CV to discuss potential research and funding opportunities.

  1. Postdoctoral research fellow: We invite applications from candidates with experience in at least one of the three research themes:

  *   Application of satellite remote sensing to understand climate change, extreme weather, and air pollution;
  *   Development of advanced exposure models to evaluate the health impact of the three study objectives introduced above;
  * Assessment of health disparities related to the study objectives to advance equity and environmental justice from a local to a global scale.
Highly motivated candidates with PhD degrees in environmental health, environmental epidemiology, atmospheric science, environmental science, environmental engineering, biostatistics, data science, satellite remote sensing, geography, computer science, or related fields are encouraged to apply. Please send a CV and the contact information for three references to Prof. Hang.
