Dear colleagues,

I am writing to advertise a fully-funded PhD project to work on extreme temperatures at the University of St Andrews.

The project will involve running state-of-the-art simulations with CESM2 and theory development. The position will be based at St Andrews' School of Earth and Environmental Sciences and the start date will be approximately September 2024.

Applications can be submitted at the following link and the deadline is 31st Jan 2024: https://www.st-andrews.ac.uk/study/apply/postgraduate/research/

The PhD position is suitable for a student with an undergraduate/masters degree or equivalent in physics, mathematics, engineering, atmospheric science, computer science, or a related field. A strong background in mathematics and physics is more important than previous experience in climate science. I would appreciate if you could share this message with students who may be interested in a Scotland adventure!

Yours sincerely,

Mike Byrne
