I am pleased to announce the first two vacancies in a the newly formed Remote Sensing Data Analysis Section at the California Air Resources Board:

https://www.calcareers.ca.gov/CalHrPublic/Jobs/JobPosting.aspx?JobControlId=373810

This section will be responsible for collecting, managing, and analyzing methane plume detections obtained through remote sensing from satellites and aircraft. Methane is a very potent greenhouse gas and mitigating these unintended leaks will be critical to solving our climate crisis.

These positions will help design and build the technical infrastructure and software utilities needed to process incoming data in order to identify methane plumes, determine their source, and provide timely information to those who can fix them. Those with skills in programming, data management, data analysis and visualization, geospatial analysis, web interfaces, or remote sensing will be a great fit for the program and are encouraged to apply.

For any questions about the positions or how to apply, please contact Steve Zelinka at the email address below.
