[ES_JOBS_NET] Postdoctoral Position in Arctic Microplastic Modeling at at the University of Colorado Boulder

The postdoc will work on the modeling component of the NSF project “Sea ice-ocean exchange of Arctic microplastics”. The goal of the project is to add capabilities for simulating microplastics in the ocean and sea ice component of the Community Earth System Model (CESM) version 2 and in Icepack, and to then use these new capabilities to study the sea ice ocean exchange of microplastics in the Arctic, including producing projections of future Arctic microplastics distributions.
The position will be based in the Polar and Paleoclimate modeling group in the Institute for Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) and the Department of Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (ATOC) at the University of Colorado Boulder, USA,  in collaboration with scientists at NCAR, WHOI, and the Applied Physics Laboratory at the University of Washington Seattle.
This is full-time position for an initial appointment of one year with a starting salary of $70,000/year. Extension to a second year is based on performance. Also offering a contribution towards moving expenses to relocate to Boulder, CO (up to $1500). Ideally, the position should be filled between 8/01/2023 and 9/1/2023, and no later than 12/31/2023.
