*March 3rd, 2023*

*A postdoc position on climate-chemistry modeling is available in the
Department of Atmospheric Sciences, Texas A&M University (TAMU), jointly
with National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR).*

The postdoctoral research associate will be responsible for studying
climate benefits due to the mitigation of methane emissions with an Earth
system model. Specifically, the postdoctoral research associate will
collaborate with the NCAR team to implement the methane flux module into
the Community Earth System Model (CESM2) and validate the model performance
against various observational records. Further numerical experiments will
be performed to understand the role of methane in past climate change and
future mitigation. The documentation of model results will be published in
peer-reviewed journals.

Preferred experiences include numerical modeling of climate and atmospheric
chemistry, familiarity with ozone chemistry, carbon cycle, and Earth System
modeling.

This is a one-year term with a possible extension subject to funding
availability and satisfactory performance. The start date, salary, and
remote/hybrid working options are negotiable.

Interested applicants should send a short cover letter stating their
academic background and interest, a CV, and the names of three references
to Dr. Yangyang Xu (yangyang.xu at tamu.edu) and Dr. Benjamin Gaubert (
gaubert at ucar.edu). The position remains until filled.
