The Associate position is appropriate for someone with a BS/MS and 0-4 years of experience in environmental- or water-related engineering or science. Northern Water jointly operates and maintains the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, which collects and delivers water for about 1,000,000 people and 615,000 irrigated acres in Northern Colorado. The Water Quality Department<https://www.northernwater.org/what-we-do/protect-the-environment/environmental-monitoring> monitors, evaluates, and manages water quality across Northern's sourcewaters, reservoirs, streams, rivers, and delivery systems, which span from the headwaters of the Colorado River to the Eastern Plains. Recent topics of interest have included post-wildfire water quality and restoration, algal blooms in reservoirs, South Platte salinity, and compounds of emerging concern, among others.
