We are seeking a full-time research technician to join the Watershed lab in
the Rubenstein School of Environment and Natural Resources at the
University of Vermont (UVM).  The research technician will contribute to
field and laboratory research and laboratory management supporting Dr. Anne
Jefferson’s research group (https://all-geo.org/jefferson/). The technician
will perform hydrology and geomorphology field work in streams, on lakes
and shorelines, and in forested and urban environments, including sample
collection and sensor installation and maintenance. In the laboratory, the
technician will process and analyze water and sediment samples, coordinate
and lab spaces, equipment, and methods. The technician will also contribute
to data management and analysis, with the potential to co-author scientific
publications.



Qualified candidates will have experience with field sampling, lab
equipment, and environmental datasets, as well as strong problem-solving,
written, and quantitative capabilities. Training will be provided on
specific research techniques as needed. Experience with R and GIS is
preferred, but not required.
