Dear environment and primate enthusiasts,

Would you like to get a comprehensive insight into the world of primate 
research andconservation? Then why not join us for our 3-weekMethods in 
Primatology Field Course in Paraguay!

The course will be running from September 17^th to October 8^th 2023, 
starting and ending in Asuncion, Paraguay, and will be led by 
award-winning National Geographic Explorer Dr. Rebecca Smith.

With a small group of like-minded students, you’ll be spending the first 
half of the courseat our field site in the Atlantic forest, one of the 
most diverse but sadly also most threatened forests of the world. Here, 
you’ll be introduced to the background of conservation in Paraguayand 
different methods of primate studies like VHF telemetry, vocalisation 
and ID training. You’ll also get the chance to practice your newly 
learned skills with the incredible hooded capuchin monkeys!
For the second half of the course, we'll take you to a very different 
habitat: The Ñeembucú Wetlands around the small town of Pilar, home to 
the highly adaptable urban black-and-gold howler monkeys. These unique 
monkeys live both in the pristine forests around Pilar and in the 
gardens of the town's residents!You’ll be introduced to the human 
wildlife conflict, and further primatology methods such as faecal and 
urine sampling. Plan your own short project, collect your own data and 
present your results to your peers!

All board, meals, and transport in country are included on top of a 
well-rounded introduction to field biology, environmental education and 
conservation presented by our award-winning staff. You can find more
